deeper into the universe than ever before back to the era
when galaxies first formed.

Hubble's important
mission will come to an end one day in the future. But the telescope's
ultimate retirement will not signal the end of our unrivaled view
of the universe. Rather, it will mark a new beginning and even
more amazing discoveries and images from space. For Hubble has a
successor.
The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) will be an infrared telescope that looks deep into space to uncover infant galaxies, distant supernovae, and more. Webb's vision will be able to penetrate clouds of cosmic dust to see objects hidden within. Scientists using Webb hope to discover and understand even more about our fascinating universe. |
