Hubble Space Telescope Deep Sky Survey Finds Huge Numbers of Irregular and Peculiar Galaxies

ABOUT THIS IMAGE:

Selection of normal spiral galaxies estimated to be at a distance of 5 to 7 billion light-years away. It is thought that these galaxies existed when the universe was half its present age. In this mosaic, the spiral or disk galaxies are seen at various inclinations from edge-on to face-on.
