Mario Livio, senior astrophysicist and head of the Office of Public Outreach at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, Md., has been elected as a new Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Livio is being recognized for his distinguished contributions to astrophysics through research on stars and galaxies and through communicating and interpreting science and mathematics to the public. In honor of his efforts, he will receive a certificate and a blue and gold rosette at the Fellows Forum on February 20, 2010, during the AAAS Annual Meeting in San Diego, Calif.
